Vitamin A. A substance closely related to vitamin A, called retinoid, is often used orally and topically (externally) by the dermatologist to help prevent acne breakouts. It works by promoting the rapid skin cell division to prevent clogging of the pores.

Omega -3. This is an essential fatty acid derived from cold water fish such as wild salmon. To help support this study it was also found that communities that have consumed large quantities of omega - 3 in their diet have a very low incidence of acne.
